Dilip Kumar has passed away
Legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar
passed away at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday. Dilip Kumar, 98,
was admitted to hospital last Wednesday with difficulty breathing.
On Wednesday, his spokesperson Faisal
Farooqi tweeted from Dilip Kumar's official Twitter account, "With great
heart and deep sorrow, I am announcing that our beloved Dilip Kumar has passed
away a few minutes ago." We are from God and we have to return to Him. '
Dr. Jalil Parker, who treated the
legendary actor, told PTI that he died at 7:30 am after a long illness.
Dilip Kumar was first taken to
hospital on June 6 on a complaint of difficulty breathing. A tweet from his
official Twitter account said, "Don't believe the forward messages of the
WhatsApp, sir, his condition is better." Thank you for your prayers.
According to doctors, he will be home in two to three days. Dilip Kumar was
discharged from the hospital on June 11.
Dilip Kumar has been hospitalized and
discharged for the past few years due to kidney problems and pneumonia. A few
years ago, the actor celebrated his birthday at the hospital where he was
undergoing treatment for fever and swelling in his leg.
Prior to the implementation of the
nationwide lockdown in March last year, Dilip Kumar had said that he and his
wife Saira Bano were in complete isolation as a precautionary measure and had
quarantined themselves.
Dilip Kumar, whose real name was
Yusuf, has shown the essence of his acting in many famous and historical films
of Indian cinema including New Age, Mughal Azam, Devdas, Ram and Shyam, Andaz,
Madhumati and Ganga Jumna.
Dilip Kumar is also known as a
sophisticated man with an actor. He was born on December 11, 1922 in the Qissa
Khawani neighborhood of Peshawar.
