Bill Gates announces state-of-the-art
nuclear reactor plant
Bill Gates, the world's richest man
and the founder of Microsoft, has chosen a coal plant in the US state of
Wyoming for his first nitrim reactor project.
According to the British news agency
Reuters, Bill Gates formed a company called Terra Power 15 years ago which is
going to launch the first natrium reactor project with the company Pacific
Corps of the well-known American investor Warren Buffett.
According to Terra Power LLC &
Pacific Corps, the site of the natrium reactor plant will be announced by the
end of the year.
Different types of fuels are used to
run small reactors of higher quality than ordinary reactors.
Advanced small reactors, such as wind
and solar energy, are among the technologies that do not require carbon
emissions. "This is the fastest and most transparent way to eliminate the
use of coal," said Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon of Bill Gates' Nitrium Reactor
project.
The Terra Power Company said last
year that the construction of the natrium reactor plant would cost ارب 1 billion. The project could generate 500
megawatts of electricity.
Last year, the US Department of
Energy awarded Terra Power Ú©Ùˆ 80 million for natrium technology. If the US
Congress approves more funding, the Department of Energy will continue to fund
Bill Gates' project.
"It will take about seven years
to build the plant," said Chris Lewisk, president of Terra Power.
"Clean energy is needed by 2030," he said.
Atomic energy experts have warned
that "advanced reactors can be more dangerous than ordinary
reactors."
According to a recent report, the
fuel used in high-end reactors is enriched at a faster rate than conventional
fuels, which could make the fuel supply chain a target for extremists who have
the potential to develop nuclear weapons. Are looking for
"Power plants will reduce the
amount of nuclear waste, which will reduce the risk of nuclear
proliferation," said Chris Lewisk, president of Terra Power.
Senator John Baraso from the state of
Wyoming says the uranium mining will also increase because of the nitrim plant.
Republican Sen. John Baraso helped introduce legislation in 2019 that would
allow advanced nuclear reactors. Licensing is smooth.
